I purchased the ET2002 in early October because the machine fit my needs and came with a free Windows 7 upgrade. After receiving the machine, I attempted to register for my Windows 7 upgrade on the Asus Website. During the registration, the serial number for my ET2002 could not be verified by Asus. So, I filled out a supplemental for the verify the serial number. After a week, no response from Asus. I then called their Windows 7 relieve number....no retort. I finally spoke to an Asus back person, and they said someone would call me relieve later that day...nope, didn't happen. When I finally spoke to an Asus "Eee-family" benefit person, they said I would bag resolution within 24-48 hours...nope, nefarious again.
It has been 3 weeks since purchasing the ET2002 and Asus aloof has not verified my PC's serial number. I have honest received an RMA from Amazon.com and the PC is being returned for a chunky refund. Sorry, Asus...you're not ready.
Update 10/29: Thank you Amazon for the Fast RMA on this steal!
I was pleasantly surprised by this unit. The monitor/computer unit is well set together and feels very solid. The wireless keyboard and mouse worked out of the box and makes the unit very easy to go around.
While I was initially concerned about how well the ATOM process would handle HD movies, it actually did a resplendent beneficial job. Budge was minimal, and even watching things like youtube and hulu wasn't too dreadful. The integrated speakers sounded capable and provided a nice surround sound enact.
This is a mammoth unit for people who want the simplicity of an all-in-one but not the high ticket note normally associated with it. The monitor's mountainous enough, the sound's integrated, the desktop foot print is runt and both the keyboard and mouse is wireless. The only wire you really need to inconvenience about is the power cord. I can totally observe buying one of these for non-tech savvy folks like my parents.
Although notebooks are more portable, and desktops are more distinguished, this unit is a spacious compromise.
I have the 15.9" model of the Eee Top and it performs in every dimension you would want in this imprint range. Very nice packaging, safe mask, expedient speakers, very nice appearance, etc. Cute keyboard which is typeable. All of this size Eee Tops are touchscreen.
Imagine my surprise when I ordered a 20" version and it has no touchscreen! Be VERY careful that you earn the touch or non-touch version you want. The keyboard smooth comes with a stylus in the stylus holder! This model has wireless keyboard and mouse that work well. I needed touchscreen.
Also, the stand on the wait on is basically not removeable (no VESA mounting) . But if you are standing it on a desk/table, it is handsome.
