I bought this slicer after very extensive comparison. I wanted a slicer with a stronger motor, but was undecided if I really needed the tilt feature. This slicer is very well made. It cuts meats very thin. I notion I would need to pick the optional blade for thin cuts, but the blade it comes with has worked perfectly for me. I have gash up ham and meat roasts. The taste is astonishing, not to mention the cost savings. I also have lop thick steaks (the ones at Costco) thinner to effect steak sandwiches. The tilt feature is advertised to gravity feed vegetables. I expend if for meat as well because the food falls away from the blade. It is considerable safer and I can chop a tall amout before I need to catch the accumulating pile of crop food. I highly recommend this product. I was also very concerned that cleaning could be so time-consuming that it might cause me to not employ the product as often. This is not the case, clean-up is a slouch and can be completed in less than 10 minutes.

Like the other reviewer, I'm very pleased with this product. Seems well made... heavy enough to stop set... cleans reasonably easily, slices beautifully, including a block of cheese and warm pastrami nice and thin. Nice and exiguous also, and I wanted a strong product but in a smaller footprint than professional models. I like the tilt, usually exhaust it in tilt mode. By the intention, the blade turns grand more slowly than I anticipated... but it slices unprejudiced beautifully. Result is that it's not as unpleasant as I notion it would be. Like the safety features for shut off as well.

After reading lots of reviews, I chose this slicer because there were no awful reviews about it although there were only two obvious ones all together. It also looked like better quality than other gourmet models. I freeze uncooked meat overnight and gash it. I exercise it to slit meat paper thin for Japanese dishes such as SHABUSHABU and SUKIYAKI. I exhaust it for Korean BBQ grill, too with slightly bigger thickness. The blade is so involving that I won't need to catch a sharper one that can be purchased separately. I like the tall round knob to adjust thickness. It's easy to scrutinize and turn. I like the on/off switch that is the plate you set aside your thumb on. I like the safety blueprint, too. It's easy to orderly, although no parts are dishwasher trustworthy. I was thrilled when I saw Alton Brown using it on his Respectable EATS expose. It must be kindly if he is using it!

Pros: Outstanding, crisp HD picture; excllent color contrast; solid response time

Cons: Microscopic pixelation with bad quality SD signal

"After doing a mammoth amount of research, I finally settled on this dwelling. I was actually enthusiastic in the slightly lower-priced Toshiba Regza, but every store in my location was out. While shopping around, I noticed that this Samsung in particular seemed to have a genuine describe. Finally I decided to recall the descend 3 days ago, and I have not been disappointed at all. In the past I have had several issues with LCD TVs, which is why I had been hesitating up to now. I know these issues are on many people's minds, and so I will address each one:

.

Motion Response

-----

First, and most notable, is response time with rapid motion. I am driven absolutely nuts if the TV can't "acquire" the motion (that is, if the image smears, or fractures, when high race elements are zooming across the mask) . The element you are looking for in an LCD monitor that tells you about this is "response time", and you want something 8ms or below. I own this TV is 6ms (the specs say this on Sammy's website, but several stores have it listed as 8ms) . In any case, this TV "holds" the motion of even posthaste images extremely well. In the store, it held motion best of all comparably priced models, including the Sony Bravias around $1k, and the Sharps around the same designate. When I got it home, I tested it out with Star Wars ep. 1 and the battle sequence from Narnia. Both looked outstanding using a regular DVD player with HDMI upconvert to 720p. You will not watch ghosting issues with high def images.

.

Color and contrast

------------

Color fidelity and difference are also distinguished to me, and LCDs have been known to have issues producing deep blacks and gleaming whites. This is not a scrape for this residence. It produces fine color, and did so suitable out of the box with the factory pre-sets. I have not had to fiddle with it at all. I did try switching to "Cinema" mode, which has some nice characteristics, but even without that, everything looked fabulous.

.

Standard Def rendition

----------

Another major insist with LCDTVs and monitors is that anything not displayed at the native resolution tends to peer blurred or "fractured". I was very concerned about this because I have lots of passe DVDs of shows like Seinfeld and the Simpsons, which I know were never broadcast in HD. Also many TV stations have not yet made the switch (though most have) . Here the TV was about as friendly as I have seen, though it is not perfect. The sterling news is that upconverted SD sources like the Seinfeld DVDs discover helpful -- every bit as satisfactory as on a regular TV, if not better. The unpleasant news is that your VHS tapes are going to behold blurry and pixelated on a situation like this. I don't have a lot of VHS tapes left, and so this isn't a vast deal. Regular SD sources with this region vary in quality. For example, the SD version of Animal Planet had a special on the other night that almost looked HD. At the same time, flip channels to CNN, and it looks awful. I suspect this is the broadcast quality and NOT the position... otherwise all channels would view dreadful in SD. So when you fetch a nice SD source being broadcast, it looks splendid.

.

I would highly recommend this residence. After connecting my HD cable box today and watching things like CSI:Miami, Vegas, and Miss Congeniality, all in widescreen HD, I can say that I am totally blown away by this set's HD performance. I don't reflect you'll be able to acquire a better HD TV plot for the designate."

Good image quality watching local HDTV stations, DVD movies and video games. This 32" LCD HDTV has 3 HDMI inputs, S video, composite video in, component video in and optical audio out.

The HDTV is easy to space up, with an automated feature that finds all the HDTV channels on air or your local cable. The gloomy levels and disagreement are quite agreeable. This shroud features 720P progressive scan.

The remote and menu software are well designed, so that you don't have to go too deep into the menu to adjust settings. The prices in Atlanta position ranged from $800 at Fryes Electronics to $712 at HH Gregg. Prices online appear to range from $700 to $1000.

Since the Samsung 400 series was launched in March 2008 this is quite a range of prices. The Samsung 4 series is intended as Samsung's value line, compared to the more upmarket Samsung 5 series. However, this monitor seems to have better describe quality than some of the other 32" LCD TV's we reviewed in the $800-900 range. This stamp and quality makes the Samsung 4 series a well-behaved value for the dollar.

Bought this model a few days ago from H&H Gregg for $807 "on sale." Not positive why they would be discounting a model that unbiased came out this month by $92 off list notice when last year's model was composed selling for more than that, since the original model boasts better technical specs in several significant respects.

Bought Samsung because many reviews indicated Samsung was worth the extra money in record quality over cheaper 32" models. The relate is reliable. The documentation is honorable as far as it goes. However, there are a myriad of report controls that are probably colossal for the afficianado, but bewildering to any neophyte. Unfortunately, the documentation doesn't give you any actual insight into when you would want to deviate significantly from the default settings. You objective have to retain experiementing until you regain what you like. There are several "automatic" settings that supposedly manufacture adjustments to the represent based on the input source and material, but frankly I couldn't impart whether and how this was working.

Likewise, there is a special feature that is supposed to enhance recount quality to the highest level (precisely how is a cramped unclear), but that feature may be toggled on or off, and is available in only the "dynamic" mode, not the "regular" or "movie" mode. Again, why this is so is not in any diagram explained in the manual.

Nevertheless, the describe if gracious under most conditions and probably fair a miniature tweaking of the default settings is sufficient most of the time. I did gape a cramped shadowing in the action scenes from a PBS drama. There was also some unfamiliar flickering in an HD broadcast of an NHL hockey game, perhaps because the white ice is on the cover so considerable of the time. This did not occur in any of the other sporting events - NCAA basketball, golf, NASCAR etc - all of which looked awesome.

On this model, the speakers are hidden below the report and the sound quality is a bit old-fashioned. But then for any sound that matters mighty to you, output can be sent to your external speaker system.

Set up was easy. The location looks immense, so great sharper than the clunky CRT location that it replaced. Only spot was that the first pains to automatically detect local over the air HD stations failed to accumulate a couple, which turned up on a second try. The "Accepted" channel designation feature is a nice blueprint to focus on the few stations you may want to consistently opinion.

Dyson is a spacious product but it's certainly NOT perfect. The 'Never lose suction' tagline is a marketing ploy, since Dyson too will acquire clogged and lose suction if not properly maintained. All other vacuum machines will NOT lose suction either if the filter bags are replaced often enough.

Overall, however, its performance beats all other vacuums (including the over-hyped Oreck, which is simply a rip-off) hands-down.

- Every few months, the user must smart out the central cylinder of the very magnificent dust, or it will glean clogged and lose suction. The intention you do this is by removing the dust collector and then separate the core cylinder from the glass casing. Utilize another vacuum to suck dirt out of the slight holes on the side of the cylinder. Also, if you examine up the cylinder from the bottom, you'll peer caked dust unruffled at the top of the cylinder. If you gently bang the cylinder (suitable) on the floor, you'll be insecure how mighty magnificent dust (about two cups worth) will descend out of the cylinder. Expend the other vacuum to suck them away. Also, seize out the 'permanent' filter and wash them. They, too, find clogged with the very lovely dust.

- The machine is very heavy and stout, and it's quite a chore to transport it between floors. The hose extension is very awkward to exercise because the point of bending is come the tip. The high profile of the vacuum head makes it impossible to vacuum under the bed, couch, etc.

- The instruction manual is poorly written, and setting up and maintaining the machine takes a steep learning curve. Dyson should include a video instruction.

- I, too, and concerned about how considerable carpet fiber the Dyson is tearing off the carpet, which you can clearly peruse in the dust collector. However, you can also peep the amount of rude and attractive dust it's picking up as well. One impressive feature of Dyson that lived up to the hype is that it will hold up mighty dust from carpet that was impartial cleaned by a regular vacuum machine.

- Dyson rarely goes on sale, but I bought mine at Sears, which had Dyson on sale last year for $379. Also, pick the regular Dyson and avoid the 'Animal', which is a rip-off. The rotating brush that comes with the 'Animal' is air powered and is too outmoded to work well on the stairs.

Summary: If you have a enormous house with a lot of carpeted areas, then Dyson is for you. You may also gain some muscle by carrying this behemoth up and down the stairs. However, you may need another vacuum for the stairs and also for a quickly desirable up in the kitchen.

What a Godsend. After four years of a Hoover Windtunnel that impartial seemed to go into shutdown after the first month of exercise, I had doubts that another bagless vacuum was the arrangement to go. This, however, is not honest another bagless vacuum - this is the Mercedes-Benz, the iPod, heck - the Shaquille O'Neal of all vacuums.

We have a tiny pet whose fur constitutes a tremendous pickle. A typical speed through the house with the customary Hoover would only accumulate its bagless chamber about half-full (or half-empty, depending) . The first bustle through with the Dyson and all its attachments picked up THREE canisters worth of pet fuzz and other dirt.

This vacuum is also position apart by cleaning attachments that WORK. Don't fully trust the Consumer Reports assure that everyone in the market for a vacuum seems to have read at some point which puts the Dyson around 10th - the Dyson's pickup on floors is beyond compare, its attachments are both functional and useful (the telescopic arrive to ceilings being a major plus) not to mention remarkable, and our carpets have never looked cleaner. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth every chuffing penny. At $400+ this is calm a worthy better purchase than the latest $300 Hoover Windtunnel model.

Once again, the British have more than proven their worth to civilisation-with-an-s. The Dyson landing upon our shores may not be as heralded as the Beatles arrival at JFK, but it may well show to be the next-best British import of all-time.

Time to be upfront, I researched a current vac for four weeks. My sister and I set aside in current carpet, paint, appliances and amazing Persian rugs in our seven year ragged house. I am a dog trainer and have threes shelties as house pets, two cats, one meduim furred and live with a mother that refuses to catch her gardening shoes off in the house.( I like to be barefoot)

I fully ask any vac that lives with me to be stupid in three to four years. This is a given, and oh, my sister had asthma and allergies, I speed a pudgy house vac 2 to 3 times a week.( I do hold the shelties groomed and trimmed and the cats too.)

I care for a trim house. My house never smells.

I bought the dyson at the local store, so I could return if it was not the accurate thing.

Its the same size and weight as my faded engaging vac, (ignore the weight complaints, this is what a genuine vac weighs) .

The suction is exquisite, anyone with a vac over three years former should not be surprised at how considerable stuff is in the carpet.

What was scary was watching a trace unusual Hamadan 150 count Persian rug lifted in the jaws of this beast and shook. Like it was a cheap thin rug. scary.

I worked for two hours and now know how to work this astounding beast, like driving a valid car for the first time.( In my life I have owned 7 vacs, including a rainbow) .

Heavy place rugs must be vacumed backward, from the top to the bottom nearest you, push 6 inches, pull 12 inches. Heavy dwelling rugs must be done very slowly!!!! ( forget cheap thin rugs, this machine will eat them) .

Directions for the wand extension are dreadful, took me an hour to figqure out how to secure the extension wait on on convey.

I appreciate the length of the wand, I despise doing stairs and floor board. I de furred my sisters room, unsuitable boards, under the bed and all the crannies. The wand made it easy as and posthaste to do.

The only potential breakable section I recognize is the canister bottom, and sides, and hinge, it feels a bit fragile. (don't knock the tools in the garbage with the dirt.)

So it was a well-behaved acquire, I paid $428 at the local fred meyer. I appreciate the bagless, Admire the wand extension, like the cleaning power, ( will be carefull not to kill the rugs) .

wish I could fiqure out how the belt is changed, that should not be a service call.

***** three months later its going strong, the interior filters are a bit clogged, so i can vacumn the place rug most of the time. grand buy*****

**** one year later, quiet running strong! sister broke the bottom off the canister yesterday, she is exiguous and got impatient and banged it on the astronomical garbage can! replacement is $$$40 from dyson. now you know, don't bang the bottom! bottom roller is apin to select out and trim, which I need to do a lot, with all the fur. (two of the shelties lost alot of fur this year) many compliments from my clients about how nice my house is, and " it never smells like dog or cat" now WHEN WILL DYSON Beget A CARPET SCRUBBER?

the best life advice I got in my twenties was " Retract Friendly vacumns, and replace them when they rupture."

Pro: the brand was factual with the nav and it is well integrated. The sound is honest up there with the Alpine I had before. It does urge my iPod Nano as advertised. When I played a DVD, it played the music but not the video (because the parking brake was not on) ...that was frigid.

Con: I tried as hard as I possibly could to win a DVD player that would let me search through the iPod titles...this unit is down arrive the bottom of that capability <sigh> about the best you can do with the iPod is effect it on amble or beget some valid playlists. It may be that the next generation of gear will do this, but for now, you're almost better off getting a unit with a aux jack on the front and using the ipod itself.

The Nav is top-notch but is very different than the Garmin Nuvi I have. It gets a fix very snappily, but got totally confused yesterday when I tried to go to a nearby town using backroads. I had to turn the nav off after I made one turn it didn't like. The Garmin seems to recover better and recalculate your move when something is inferior (like the road it wants to expend is closed for construction) .

The train sounds like one of those answering phone synthetic voices that reads your credit card number aid to you, not approach as nice as the Garmin.

Once I find over how frigid it is having it all-in-one, I will starting thinking about how remarkable I spent to have a stereo that sounds about as top-notch as the one I had before, plays an ipod almost the same as the one I had before, and has a nav almost as honorable as the one I had suction-cupped to my windshield that I could attach in any car I drove.....it is icy having a touch veil and I guess that is the feature I really paid for.

I honest received the NZ409 and elected to have it professionally installed instead of doing this myself. Everything I've read online said that the 2003 Honda Civic is comely "tight" and it may not be easy to do this as an amateur. In addition to the head unit, I also had a backup camera, Sirius SC-C1 Satellite Radio and Blue Tooth installed.

The worthy news: The Clarion's menus are magnificent intuitive and easy to navigate through the different levels. The radio doesn't need any additional hardware adapters for Sirius. The SC-C1 receiver plugs factual it. The receiver prove provides nice options for saving the radio and satellite presets. My iPod iTouch was recognized immediately and I was able to navigate through the different playlists easily. I tried the DVD feature and it seemed to work well. The reveal is attractive and lustrous (although I probably won't expend this grand) . The GPS works well and the guidance seems to be right. It acquires a signal hasty and has a very shiny and understandable point to.

The dreadful news: You'll need a USB extension cable if you belief on using this feature of the phone. I got a 6' long extension and leave the wire coiled up in my glove box. The fact that it plays DVD's is nice, but unless you're planning on sitting in your car for 2 hours burning the battery or your gas, you won't acquire a lot of expend from this feature as the parking brake has to be on for this feature to work. I understand it's a safety feature, but it's smooth something you'll have to deal with. I had some issues with the BLT370 working with the head unit. Both are Clarion's products and switching the blue tooth unit didn't yield any better results. The book is mild out on this feature as no easy respond seems to design this work. Another exclusive knock on the GPS is the announce of the guidance director. It seems very "electronic" and has the same kind of sound as the box feeble by people who have had radical throat surgeries. It also takes a bit longer than other units I've former when recalculating your route after a mistake.

All in all, I contemplate it's a spacious value for all of the features it has. As of legal now (2 days after my installation) I'm really glad with my choice of an aftermarket radio selection.

The good;

Sharp video, easy install and works very well with the additional Sirius radio. Does all that it says it will do. Easy to bypass the DVD park thing. Seems to be expedient. GPS antenna very sensitive even when located under stout rear window.

The bad:

Just doesn't do it true well. Except the Sirius. GPS has trim features, but will prefer you on some really irregular routes. Try it on some familiar routes to leer how it thinks. Maps are lacking, especially for rural detail.

Really brief and vague install manual, in many many languages. Has one wire from the receiver whose function is never revealed. Never venerable, don't peruse any ill effects.

Sirius info when exhibit is closed is very brief, no title or artist.

Should have a panel for aux a/v, usb inputs, instead of impartial loose wires, very tacky.

Rather deep chasis, wire package. Create definite you have plenty of room in the scamper.
</sigh>

I would deem twice about purchasing anything from Briel, the company refuses to send parts that were not with the machine. It was positive in the packaging that the two peices NEEDED to utilize the espresso maker were not included. When I contacted the USA distibuter( Cafe West of Medford Oregon) AND Briel directly I was met with piss awful service, actully NO service 4 attempts have gone un answered. I am level-headed waiting to hear benefit from Amazon as to what they can do for me. This product was purchased for its dual consume of coffee and espresso, to this date I aloof have not been able to try the espresso maker, the coffee pot share is ok but is flimsy plastic and the lid pops off very easy, this is something you dont survey in the pictures since it looks like metal. In fact its a thin section of metal glued to plastic. SO far the coffee maker is OK but I am not overly impressed, this could be from the pure lack of customer benefit.

I am distinct Amazon will acquire care of any predicament as they are a mountainous company but it truely sucks that I may have to send the enitre machine support honest to pick up 2 minute pieces.

I would seriously contemplate other coffee makers before commiting to what seems to be a crappy company.

I notice I'm alone in this, but I quite be pleased my Briel Spacesaver. Never had any problems with it. I know it is not completely metal. For the mark it looks high extinguish. To net all metal I would paid over $1,000.00. I can always depend on my machine when I create coffee for friends and my daughter enjoys making espresso. She is a barista in Dean and Deluca in NYC and she says it works like the commerical machines at work. So I can't complain. I am very joyful.

Although Amazon was very well-behaved in sending out a replacement for the first one which was rotten, the second unit is base as well. Also, both units were actually dirty and showed terrible workmanship. Either I got two from a abominable batch or this company has awful quality control.

Again, Amazon was estimable but the product as the kids say 'sucks'.

An elcellent drill to be old-fashioned in those tight corners and spaces where any other drill & bit will no go. Legal angle head rotates through 360 degress to serve in those tight spaces. With the ability to drill stright as well this "specialized" tool is not. Typical Milwaukee construction. Objective finished a 3500 sq.ft. home wiring job. Worth every penny and then some for timely completion especially with owner changing partitions nearly daily.

Top recommendation.

Wow - this is how a reconditioned tool should be. This thing has been hand inspected, polished, tuned and packaged with everything like unusual. Yes, there is a wear tag on the RAD, but I'll attach plenty more there myself. This tool came with all the gizmos and gadgets that approach in the modern package (wrench, manual wrapped in plastic, chuck removal tool, novel handle and extender) . The quik lok cord was designate original, the drill had been freshly lubed (a exiguous extra in the case attested to that!) . The impress of "reconditioned" was discreetly placed underneath, not glaringly on top - not significant, but another nice touch on the portion of milwaukee. This is the second reconditioned drill I have bought from Milwaukee, and I have not found a reason to regret either retract. I contemplate they are better than novel, since that have been tested and adjusted a second time before arriving. All the features and a lower note - Milwaukee reconditioned tools work for me.

I will be adding my review of a recon Porter Cable nailer on how a reconditioned tool shouldn't advance.

I got this drill to beget holes inside walls for electrical wire runs. This is a ample tool and the refurb job is fair like novel. I customary a dawdle bit to obtain the job done, but perform certain to catch a self-feeding bit. Two speeds are forward/reverse. The top of the drill states made in the USA, I am assuming the whole drill is, not unbiased the gearbox? I dropped the drill and it unprejudiced dented the floor, not the drill. Well built. Very loud, and be definite to contemplate out for snags while using, because the drill has torque and will pull you around in a circle if you don't let go.

I bought several netbooks and this by far is the best. I would rob dark, but I decide the white over brown. It won't be long when they add a CD drive. If you need additional storage dwelling an external hard drive will suffice. I am a name stamp person and Sony held their name on this one. Its worth the extra few dollars. The hard drive and describe quality is expedient. I do alot of traveling and this limited terrible boy is a perfect size for that and the appearance is none other, hey its a VAIO! I am a U.S. Contractor and taken this to the sand box (Iraq) and its been outside the wire many times and its built tough like the MRAPs. I do suggest buying a HP sleeve for it cause it fits perfectly and the neoprene is thicker.

this netbook is definitely something we purchased for plenty of reasons. one was cause its a Sony. Secondly it works well over wireless with the playstation and the conceal size and resolution is far agreeable than other netbooks on the market.

it's definitely more expensive than the other netbooks but its definitely worth it!!!

This is a large machine for the stamp! At first I was nervous because of the plastic feel, but it seems to be holding up really well. It is very like a flash to heat up. VERY serene considering the ceramic grinder. It is given 4 stars because of how lickety-split the drip tray fills up (arrive the coffee grounds drawer) otherwise I would give this a 5 star rating. It has to be emptied once a day if you have stale the machine a lot. We do because it has the awesome feature of sending out hot water with the spout fair by pushing the water button and turing the knob on top. So we exercise this machine for hot tea too! Also the water tank is a diminutive hard to score out. Maybe we are being too gentle with it, but you do honest have to give it a dinky extra pull. The adjustable drip tray (in front) is tall. I unprejudiced design my latte to go in a depart mug. The ability to switch from frothing the milk - which is very snappily - to immediately making the espresso it my accepted feature.

Overall this is an favorable machine, makes substantial espresso, easy to employ, and looks tremendous too!

OK, so I did a ton of research on this and the plethora of similar machines that are out there. I also went the route of using the 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond and I could not be happier.

Right out of the box it was very easy to follow the 4-step directions. It fired suitable up and made what I hope to be the first of thousands of perfect lattes. It truly is a incredible machine!!

I care for that it swivels benefit and forth for easy access to the water tank and the dump bin for the aged grounds. I don't deem I even have to wait 30 seconds for the milk frother to manufacture steam--it's very speedy.

A few tips:

1. steam your milk first before you pull your shots as the shots will go dreadful after about 10 seconds (this is what I learned as an employee of one super-popular Seattle-based chains) .

2. Sustain a petite container under the frother attachment so that when you turn it on there will be something there to salvage the petite amount of water that spills out.

3. Sustain a supply of decaf onhand because once you originate making these you won't be able to discontinuance and you'll turn into a caffeine zombie.

All of the negative points that have been raised in the majority of reviews (on both this and other similar makes and models) are a non-issue for me. The indicator lights speak you when things need to be refilled or emptied; the machine is very solid (albeit solid plactic), and it heats up dapper swiftly.

I am a trim picky coffee/latte drinker and I am in cherish with thing!!!

I did not hesitate to choose my second Saeco after 4 years of righteous experience with my first one - a Saeco Vienna (which is peaceful running beautiful) . Compared with the Vienna, the Odea Giro does almost everything a tiny better, despite having a smaller footprint. It is more stylish, heats up (and cools down) faster, and froths better. The espresso quality is superior with rich crema and aroma. I am especially impressed with how like a flash and easy it is to switch between the modes - steam and hot water/ brew, despite it having a only a single boiler. In other single-boiler models like the Vienna you would have to manually purge the water and wait as grand as 30 seconds. In the Odea Giro it is done automatically within 10 seconds.

As famous in other reviews, the water tank capacity can be a quandary. The bean hopper is also smaller than Vienna. However I am satisfied to trade off tank capacity for less counter place. My previous experience with Vienna is that you always want to dump and refill the tank with current water before turning on the machine. The coffee tastes considerable better than with day-old water.

Small and compact, fits perfectly in my book bag and weighs less than 3lbs. The battery life that I have experienced has been awesome, mine came with a 6-cell battery so I am looking at around 8 hours of battery life, but I haven't timed nor tested this. I read another comment that was posted regarding the size of the netbook with the 6-cell battery in area. I agree that the pictures do not illustrate this, however, we're talking an extra slouch...maybe...in height on the backside. A plus to this extra slide is that the netbook now tilts forward which makes it easier for typing, kind of like the limited "stilts" underneath a desktop keyboard. FYI, with the 6-cell battery in site it composed fits in my caselogic 10.3in case/sleeve that I bought for it.

I have had my netbook for about a week now and I am really enjoying it. It gives me everything I need for school and now I don't have to proceed around a cumbersome laptop, not to mention the battery life is about 2.5 times longer than most laptops.

Perfect for taking notes in class, working through excel, viewing PowerPoint, and checking email. I belief on putting it in the kitchen when I am done with grad school so my wife and I can store recipes or anything else we may need. With the wireless hook up and the compact size for $350 this netbook is a enormous addition to your home network.

One thing to remember, most netbooks (if not all) do not have CD/DVD Drives, so loading software such as MS Office will require you to rob an external Disc Drive, about $100, or you will have to borrow a friend's to load your software. The other option is downloading the desired software program off of the internet and loading the software that plan.

*UPDATE* I've had my netbook for a few weeks now and it has proven to be one of the best electronic purchases I have ever made. The ability to type and organize my notes while in class is unbelievable, I will never go abet to taking notes by hand. Also, the independent operating system that you can access without booting up the burly windows 7 is phenomenal. It allows me to turn on my computer and be up in running in less than 8 seconds. I can access music, email, pictures, skype, chat, and the internet all from this snappy boot-up feature. I simply can't say enough honorable about this netbook. Pure and simple - A Tremendous Recall!

Its a broad computer however I cannot come by out how to change the desktop wallpaper. I have a different version on windows 7 on a different laptop and change my wallpaper works ravishing on that one. but This hp mini has no option to change the wallpaper. Ive examine online and other people are having the same problems with hp mini and windows 7 starter.

--update

Did some research and found out this wallpaper sing is because of windows 7 starter, With windows 7 starter you are not allowed to change the desktop wallpaper... I give this laptop a 4/5, and i give windows 7 starter a 2/5. I will be installing windows xp home on this hp mini.

This computer comes with a built-in instant operating system (IOS) that is independent of Windows. You can inaugurate the computer and speedy bring up a simplified web browser and email tool. The WI-FI suitable IOS launches hasty so email or popular web sites are easy to check. For more operating features and printing, Windows can be launched with the usual longer boot-up time.

The IOS is mentioned briefly in HP's official product specs, but I reflect they could form a strong case for the value of it.

I did not know the IOS existed when I bought this, but now I acquire it to be my accepted feature of the machine.

My review would be five star if the operating system were a chubby Windows 7 instead of the somewhat crippled starter edition.

I've had the HP L7680 for slightly over three months. I've been a graceful heavy user, having printed (according to the self-test page) almost 4000 pages during that time. Unlike some of the others mentioned here, my unit has been completely suitable.

Print Quality - Printing is very titillating and closely approaches laser quality...it's certainly above the threshold for business correspondence and presentations. The color output is solid, with almost no visible banding. I have not old-fashioned it to print many photos, but those that I have have been also acceptable, given the constraints of a four color ink system. If photography printing is your distinguished usage, you should bewitch a printer with more ink colors.

Ink consumption - Over the span of 4000 pages, I went through the initial station of ink cartridges and am now on the third dusky cartridge...the second cartridge was a standard capacity one, while the third is the XL version. It's composed 2/3 fat. A second space of color cartridges were also the standard capacity versions. They're quiet 3/4 chunky. When they go empty, they'll also be replaced with the XL versions. Most of my printing is obviously shaded with a minor amount of set color.

Faxing - It works. Faxes seem to earn there.

Copying - The internal memory is inadequate to allow more than 5-6 pages of a document to be scanned and stored for collated printing. This flaw was obviously anticipated by the printer's firmware designers...the page

that causes the memory to overflow is returned to the scanning input tray so it can be scanned in the next five page batch. Unfortunately this flaw requires manual intervention...you have to assume the five printed pages from the output tray, plot them aside and then set them on top of the next batch out. This is an absolute distress...The leader of the copier invent team should be required to invent fifteen copies of Tolstoy's War and Peace as atonement.

Scanning - The HP software works, but is awkward. I have yet to inspect where the defaults are location...and the preset ones aren't optimal for my office. I'd like to be able to plot it to scan an 8x11.5 letter size by default, rather than have the software guess the paper size based upon the image. It's NEVER guessed correctly. And, after scanning something into Adobe Acrobat, I need to click on "assassinate" three more times before the image is finally transferred...it's like a Japanese monster movie...The Software That Wouldn't Die. There's other annoyances. The bottom line, though, is that it works. It's unprejudiced doesn't work nicely.

So...the copying and scanning issues dropped this printer from a strong five stars down to three. It prints vast and if there was a socket where I could add in more memory, the copying pickle would go away. But there isn't. And while the scanning stuff is unprejudiced annoying, the copying spot is a genuine time-waster.

Update: Since I've had the printer for a year and a half, I conception I'd add in a speedy update and imprint that it's detached going strong. I've gone through 500cc of gloomy ink, 50-60cc of cyan and yellow, and 36cc of magenta. There has been some drift in the alignment, resulting in some little banding while printing, but I suspect that that could be calibrated out. The only major scrape has been wear in the automatic page feed mechanism in the document feeder, which causes misfeeds while faxing or copying. Cleaning the rollers and pads helped, but they should be replaced. The remove of a high hurry scanner (Fujitsu ScanSnap S510 Sheet-fed Scanner) has lovely mighty eliminated my exhaust of the automatic document feeder, otherwise this scrape would be a serious hassle.

I've had this machine for about 5 days and so far so superb. I had anxiety installing it on one of my desktop computers and made the mistake of calling HP. Tech succor answered just away, but the lady who was trying to succor me didn't understand english very well and I had touble belief her because of a thick accent. She suggested making some changes to my startup file and if I had followed her instructions, I don't judge my computer would have re-booted.

Instead, I tried installing it on my laptop and it installed quite easily. I then installed it on another laptop and a different desktop and it is working resplendent on all machines. The printer is plugged into my router and I've had no danger accessing it from the wired desktop, or wirelessly on the laptops through my wireless access point.

I am not a technical expert, but to me the print quality looks very great. The printer is very rapidly. I purposely handled one of the dried printouts with damp hands, and the ink did not smear.

I have not had a chance to region up the fax yet so I can't comment on that. My only complaint is the amount of software that HP installs. I might uninstall it and then re-install it with the "customize" option. Factual now Zone Awe is constantly reporting attempts by the software to access the internet, even if I'm not doing anything with the printer. I don't know why the heed is showing up on Amazon at $414. I've seen this everywhere for $399; and Staples has a $50 off coupon too.

UPDATE 3/18/07

I venerable the fax wizard and status up the fax machine expeditiously, with no problems. The printer is faster than I expected. In draft mode, the quality is very great, and the L7680 is faster than my laser printer.

Scanning is dilemma free. I like the having the option of scanning directly to a portable USB intention. I'm hoping it has a "preview mode" for scanning. I haven't been able to acquire it yet.

We dwelling up the printer carefully and it seemed resplendent at first. A few days later, we tried printing, and the pages came out stained with ink. Opening up the printer revealed immense dim ink puddles in the site underneath where the print heads proceed. There was obviously an internal ink leak.

I've faded many HP printers in the past, both at home and at work, so I was optimistic that HP would be sterling and efficient in fixing the scrape. Puny did I know, the frustrations were only beginning.

The HP representative spoke minimal English and insisted on having me do all kinds of comical things to try to "fix the plight". Nothing he suggested could possibly have cleaned up the ink leak, but I humored him. For more than two hours. By now, the moderate ink leak had turned into a giant inappropriate mess, with sad ink spilling over the desk under the printer. The printer was now reporting that the sunless ink cartridge was empty -- i.e., the entire contents of the cartridge had leaked out.

To be positive, this was not a case of a unpleasant succor agent. The guy was obviously working from a series of scripts whose sole just was to prevent them from fixing an obvoiusly atrocious product. From a "bean-counter" perspective, this probably saves HP a few dollars, but it's an extraordinary end of time for customers. And it resulted in ink spilling everywhere. (Shouldn't HP know that, if a customer calls with an ink leak, you don't deny them to do things that will cause more ink to leak out? )

Meanwhile, the agent was detached refusing to fix the printer and was insisting that I needed to find a current ink cartridge. Of course, adding more ink would unbiased have caused more ink to leak out. (Also, the ink leak was on the honest side of the printer and the cartridges on the left, so this could not conceivably have fixed the spot.) He was steadfastly refusing to replace the printer.

Finally, I told the agent that I was going to post a description of what happened to Amazon, and he should protest this to his manager. A long time elapsed. Finally, he came befriend and said they would replace the printer after all.

Another hour elapsed of trying to net the agent to enter the credit card information correctly. (HP neededs "collateral" before they'll honor their warranty obligations, and the combination of a balky credit card approval system and an agent with unpleasant typing and English skills meant the process took forever.)

In summary:

-- HP product quality is not what it aged to be.

-- HP serve is the worst I've ever experienced - ever.

-- HP will refuse to honor its warranty obligations unless you threaten to post your experiences.
